You could almost think Corona is over these days. It's opening, it's vaccinating, the town is filling with life again: People lining up for restaurant seats, groups of friends sitting together, summer vacations and the first concert visit being planned.
The daily reading of the figures on new corona infections, incidences and deaths now passes us by in an almost ritualistic way. But who are the faces behind the numbers? Who were the deceased, who do they leave behind - without a last goodbye, a last kiss, a last caress? The relatives are often left with only a glimpse through a pane of glass and a phone call.
And they are left behind with job loss, lack of money and everyday worries that crush them.
We collect for those who have been hit particularly hard. From my books that I sell on Amazon, 1 dollar goes to our campaign, so that children's eyes can shine again.
